2007/2008 TV Season Update
Here it is, middle of the summer and for some reason
EZTV has many of the new fall season shows already posted.
Cane Jimmy Smits new show
about a Cuban-American family and exposes the changes the American Dream has taken on, might be fun to watch
Caveman
a sitcom based on the GIECO commercial sounds to me pretty stupid.. but who knows.
Weeds
is back for another season starts in two weeks, but EZTV has 4 episodes posted already.
Big BangTheory
Just might turn out to be really fun
Two brilliant theoretical physicists, who thought they new everything about life, meet a woman who shows them how little they actually know about real life.
Lipstick Jungle
Based on the best selling book by Candace Bushnell, the author of Sex and the City, Lipstick Jungle follows the lives of three women searching for their Mr. Right. Each of the three women have high-powered careers: Nico (Kim Raver) is the editor-in-chief of the hottest fashion magazine; Wendy (Brooke Shields) balances her fast-paced career as a movie executive with her family; and Victory (Victory Ford) is a free-spirited designer.
Bionic Woman
In an update on the popular 1970s series, Michelle Ryan stars as Jamie Sommers, a struggling bartender and surrogate mother to her teenaged sister, who thought her life couldn't get any worse. But when Jamie is involved in a devastating accident, her only chance at survival is through top-secret technology. But this life technology didn't come cheap. Now Jamie has been transformed into a technological wonder with a $50 million debt to pay and must learn to use her new abilities for good all while discovering the inner-strength she had all along.
CalifornicationDavid Duchovny stars as Hank Moody, a drug and sex addicted writer juggling a 16-year-old daughter, an ex-wife whom he still cares for, and an insatiable appetite for beautiful women.
Why or how the torrent sites have these shows, might be the studios sneeked them, waiting for feedback from the torrent users...But I have to say its interesting that most of these recent preair releases are of new shows. I did notice that there is no pre-air yet of Prison Break.

Adam Curtis - Master Documentarian
A few years ago I was lucky enough to see the three part documentary "The Power of nightmares"
To say I was blown away.. would be an understatement
Three 2 hour episodes which had me riveted to every word.
The documentary for those of you who have not seen it is about the history of the modern clash between Muslims and the " Neo-conservatives who currently run our country. " Where they got their ideas from and trying to explain why what we are seeing on both sides a world which doesn't appear to make much sense.
Come to find out Nightmares was only one in a long list of other documentaries which have been done by
Adam Curtis Rather than review each one, wikipedia with the link does a quite good job of it, complete with links to some of his works which you can view on line.
The trap his latest work I would suggest seeing after you have a few of his other works.. Not that its bad.. but seeing some of his earlier work might help you understand the concepts he is making with the film "the trap"
I am now watching the "The century of self" and once again glued to every word. One of my hobbies is look at the news and try to figure out who is putting out the story and why. I have been aware for years the the news we get here in the US is full of concepts we are being spoon fed.. Its fun sometimes when I am right and see it too clearly who is telling us something and why.
The century of self, is in many ways the story of the how the modern day
spin doctors came to being.. and how deep in our society they really are.
Adam chronicles
Edward Bernays who is the father of the first public relations company. in an interview with Edward he claims that what he was doing was really propaganda but with the negative feelings surrounding that word he had to come up with something new.. Thus the birth of the first Public Relations Firm.
Edwards uncle Sigmund Freud helped shape his idea on how people could be motivated to buy things based on the need to feel better about ones self, instead of the truth , or logical motivation based on quality and customer need. He found that people were motivated by their need to feed the subconscious and he could use that to have thousands of people to think the way he wanted without them even knowing they were being manipulated.
This practice didnt stop with just getting people to buy products they didnt need, it started being used as a way to promote moves and even governments used the practices to get people to think positive about programs or wars they wanted to fight.
These videos are pretty easy to find on the net.. its just too bad these have not been picked up by Discovery or PBS .
Honestly, these documentaries are as educational and well documented as anything I have ever seen.
They are all well worth you time .

Television in Summer Sucks!
Here it is, mid July 2007, BBC's Dr Who just finished. For those of you with kids I am sure there are all sorts of things to do, like theme parks, chucky cheese birthday parties, shopping for school year and so on.
But those of us who's kids are out of the house.. (I think they call us an empty nester) What do we do. ?
Read a good book... , honestly I find I like listening to them better..
Television in the summer is a wasteland of repeats and not quite good enough for the true season Shows like The Closer, and 4400. while they are watchable, I yearn for the quality of Hero's and Prison Break and the Wire.
Maybe Ill spend the time educating myself with some new cooking experience or find a new bike path down one of LA rivers .. Thats ok for the daytime, but evening.... Who knows I might have to forego TV and actually get out and talk with people, relearn the art of conversation.... never know someone I bump into might just have something new or innovative to enlighten me with..Probabaly not.. but without a TV.. I think Ill have to try.
