This evening I am just in awe of how the internet and technology has changed my life.
My
IO data brings it all Together
Tonight rather than watching Television, (which I believe will be a thing of historical note in just a few years) I find myself listing to a few of my Joe Franks (mp3 files)
"Just Get Me Out of here " which I collected back in the Napster days.
At the same time I am using bittorrent downloading a first run movie from some off shore internet site.
Tomorrow evening when
Deadwood I know it will be recorded in HD, avail for download. Who needs to wait for the show, when it can be downloaded, to be watched at future time.
I burned DVD for a friend which had on it 4 movies. One DVD having 4 complete movies !
Where is this taking us.
A little earlier this evening I found myself listening to internet Radio (thanks again to the IO data) this was
BigUpRadio !
Back, years ago, when Bill Gates said that 640K would be enough ram for anyone to do anything with computers I had I think a 10 MB hard disk. That was a big old disk . It held my OS, my applications and my data, as well as many games as I could get, my BBS porno, with 5 megs to spare. I could understand Bill.
Ya times were good.
Now here in 2005 I carry in my pocket a 1 gig SD Ram drive, wich is not enough to even keep 1/10th of my record collection, and barely enough space to hold even one movie.
We have become Storage Whores, RAM Whores, Processing Whores, and its not about to stop here.
We have been living in a 32 bit world, and due out sometime next year are computers build on the 64 bit processing. This is going to take computer usage, storage needs to new levels of waste we could only image today.
My TB Server which I think today should last me for my lifetime probably will be outdated, and needing to be scrapped within.. What's your guess 3 years..

Transnote to make a comeback !
Way back in 2001 IBM had a great design idea named the
Transnote. Part writing tablet, Part laptop notebook. Trouble was it was an idea before its time.. It was relased about year before MS made its long awaited spash in the market with its tablet os, which was suppose to change the way people worked with laptops.
Now in 2005, Tablets are here, found thier niche. But not nearly as widley accepted as Bill Gates would have hoped.
The transnote didnt have a very long life span... But that was then.
Ruhmor has it that IBM has plans to release a new updated TransNote this June. Sorry I don't have pictures of the new transnote, but here is a good picture of the older one.

Kung Fu Hustle
Steven Chow has made it to the US Market in a big way. The new Sony Pictures film
Kung Fu Hustle is a comedic masterpiece. The story itself is classic story of a young boy, beaten up by the local bullies takes a vow to fight for the bad side. But later in life when he has a chance to actually join the bad side his consience gets the best of him.
To explain its little bit Kung Pow, a little Jackie Chan mixed Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I found myself lauging and crying not looking at my latop. (this say a whole lot) What can I say. ? It was fun. so on the Bob Scale, 1 to 7. (one being best of course) I give this movie a 1 ! hands down, best film I have seen all day.

IBM Laptops Rock
I just got my first hands on look at a new X40 from IBM.. WOW is about all I can say. Everything you want in a laptop.
sturdy manufacturing. Good feel for keys. Now with a SD Ram Slot. (great for those digital photo's viewed on your laptop... .. Better than the little viewer on your camera.. ... Yea.. We all have done that.. Can I see that..
Put it on your ipaq at least.
Anyway..Back to IBM.
Her I am using my now 3 year old T 30 The thing still works.. I have my daily X30.. But now the X40
What more can I say.. If you need a laptop. Don't mess with HP Gateway, or Dell. Just get the thinkpad. If you cant afford a new x40 get an older x30 or x24.. Also very very good light. Power machines.

Today as I start my blog I am once again in love with InternetRadio. I recently purchased a home media player for my living room.
Its a mp3 player, dvd and cd player, but also can play Internet Radio.
Internet Radio is high quality radio streams , broadcast from anywhere. Currently there are 1900 Plus stations. (with over 8000) total currently broadcasting. Anyone with a computer and an internet connection can become a broadcaster.
My Device is from
io data So far having internet radio back in my living room has helped.
