Transnote to make a comeback !
Way back in 2001 IBM had a great design idea named the Transnote. Part writing tablet, Part laptop notebook. Trouble was it was an idea before its time.. It was relased about year before MS made its long awaited spash in the market with its tablet os, which was suppose to change the way people worked with laptops.Now in 2005, Tablets are here, found thier niche. But not nearly as widley accepted as Bill Gates would have hoped.
The transnote didnt have a very long life span... But that was then.
Ruhmor has it that IBM has plans to release a new updated TransNote this June. Sorry I don't have pictures of the new transnote, but here is a good picture of the older one.Transnote Large Image

The Transnote became a separate product offered by Cross at one point - the Cross Tablet came in two editions and I picked up the smaller one (it fit into a binder and uses 5x7 paper)
Worked great and the link was very seamless although recently I've switched over to my Ipaq instead (except now, the alignment is all off).
It's interesting that IBM is looking at bringing it back - seems the TabletPC would be a better way to go.
